Kora National Park
Kora National Park is located in Coast Province in Kenya. The park covers an area of 1,788 KM2. It is located of 125 KM east of Mount in Kenya. The park was initially gazetted as a nature reserve in 1973 as a reserve and gazetted as a park in 1990. Kora was the home of George Adamson and Tony Fitzjohn for nearly 20 years. Their work encompassed the organization and management of the conservation area and development of Kora to National Park Status in 1989. Kora was recently made into a national park and Wildlife now and all associated trusts have a strong commitment and duty to help Kora prosper into the future. The land surface slopes gently from an height of 490M in the south-west and about 270M in the north-east. Kora Park is one KM from the nearest beach and just a 10-minute drive from the historic town of Formia. The Kora Park offers many facilities including a jacuzzi, a lift and a restaurant serving Italian dishes. There are few places offer a more genuine wilderness ambience than the remote and rugged Meru and Kora National Parks. The trusts are assisting the Kenya Wildlife Service’s Senior Warden of Meru and Kora National Parks on a multi-disciplinary programme of development.

How to reach Kora National Park:
Reach by Road: The Park is 280 KM to the north-east of Nairobi. Access is via Thika to Mwingi then north-east through Kyuso village. A bridge across the Tana River joins the park with Meru National Park.
