Pench National Park
Pench National Park is set in Seoni and Chhindwara districts of Madhya Pradesh in India. It was declared a sanctuary in 1977 but raised to the status of National park in 1983.The later it was established as Tiger Reserve area in 1992.Pench Tiger Reserve comprises the Indira Priyadarshini Pench National Park, the Mowgli Pench Sanctuary and a buffer. Pench National park, nestling in the lower southern reaches of the satpuda hills is named after Pench River, meandering through the park from north to south. A spectacular natural reserve set among typical Central Indian teak jungle, Pench offers a quiet and secluded game viewing experience. Pench National Park, comprising 758 KM2, out of which a core area of 299 KM2 of Indira Priyadarshini Pench National Park and the Mowgli Pench Sanctuary and remaining 464 KM2 of pench national park is the buffer area.Pench is made up mostly of teak-tree forest rather than sal so has a different flavour than nearby Kanha or Bandavgarh. It also sees fewer tourists so, as you’re driving around the park you’ll often feel like you have the whole forest to yourself.

The Pench National park is open from October to June but November to Mid March is best for the visit when the weather is just ideal for animal sightings. The Park is open daily from 6.00 am to 7.00 pm.
