Ruaha National Park
Ruaha National Park is the largest national park in Tanzania. It is surrounded area of about 22,000 KM². Ruaha national park is one of the few Tanzania’s famous wilderness area where one can have a rare experience of game viewing spiced up by the fascinating landscape. Ruaha’s wild and untrammelled feel is what sets it apart from other reserves, making it a popular choice for regular east African safarigoers.Ruaha National Park is Tanzania's largest, a vast wilderness in the south-west of the country visited by only a handful of travellers each year. These Park set in the South-West of Tanzania, Ruaha sprawls within and along an ancient arm of the Great Rift Valley, covering a unique transition zone where the Eastern and Southern species of both fauna and flora meet against a dramatic topographical background. As the national park's capacity to fulfil its own mission increased, FORS recognized the need to explore ways to continue best supporting the conservation of the larger ecosystem. The wide distances of Ruaha National Park have a drama and atmosphere quite unlike any other Tanzanian park.
How to reach Ruaha National Park:
Reach by Road: The most direct route to the park is about 130 KM drive from Iringa town and 625 KM from Dar-es-salaam city. A direct road traverses west to northwest to the park entrance. The road is in reasonable condition and can be travelled by a two wheel drive vehicle.
