Bannerghatta National Park
Bannerghatta Biological Park was created from a portion of Bannerghatta National Park and it is located 22 km south of Bangalore, Karnataka, India. It was established in 1974 and with the total area about of 106.27 km². The park has been famously hailed for housing a wide variety of birds and animals, and is especially known for its tiger and lion safari. The park also has the significance of housing the first ever butterfly conservatory in India. Bannerghatta National Park is one of the well conserved animal sanctuaries in India and is a must-visit place in Bangalore. The Suvarnamukhi stream runs across the park and it is believed that the stream originates from the Suvarnamukhi Hill. The Park has a combination of moist and dry deciduous forests in addition to thorny scrubs. We then consulted the veterinarians at Hebbal institute and they too confirmed the disease. A variety of fauna in the picturesque surroundings of the park can be seen. The living environment has been so designed that it supports 20 species of butterflies. The park is a combined effort of the Zoo Authority of Karnataka, University of Agricultural Sciences and the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and Environment. A pet's corner as well as a museum is also situated inside this national park. In addition, a portion of the park is used as a sanctuary for rescued wild animals,mainly from circuses.
