Tsavo East National Park
Tsavo National Park is the largest park in Kenya and was established on 1st April, 1948.Tsavo East National Park is one of the oldest and largest parks in Kenya at 11,747 KM2. From the Lodge, you can look out onto the three water holes and see the ever-changing Panorama of Africa unfold right before your eyes and at the same time enjoy the luxury of waiters’ service.Tsavo East the larger of the two, lies to the east of the Nairobi –Mombasa road, equidistant between Nairobi and Mombasa, and offers a vast and untapped arena of arid bush which is washed by azure and emerald meandering of Galana River.Indeed, its size has led to the park being split into two sections - Tsavo West and Tsavo East - for easier administration.There are very few camps and lodges here and, relatively speaking, almost none, with the majority of them close to Voi in the west, near the Mombasa highway. The first gate to the park from Nairobi is along Nairobi Mombasa road past just before getting to Mtito-Adei, and the first gate from Mombasa is the Bachuma Gate.Tsavo East is one of the largest game reserves in Africa, situated mid-way between Nairobi and Mombasa.Tsavo East is accredited as one of the world's leading bio-diversity strongholds, bushy grassland and open plains alternating with savannah and semi-arid acacia scrub and woodlands.
